Modifying an existing system connection

Distribution network operators can request GTS to modify the functionality or location of an existing system connection. A number of steps need to be completed when applying for such modifications:

  1. Application form for a modification to an existing system connection
The first step is completion of an application form by the distribution network operator in order to have a clear overview of the work involved for GTS. It is therefore important to ensure that this form contains all the relevant details.
  2. Implementation agreement
GTS will start a study to investigate the potential for modifying a system connection as soon as it has received the signed application form from the distribution network operator. If the study shows that modifying the system connection is possible, we will send you an implementation agreement. This will contain, among other things, a description of the work, a cost allocation and a timetable. If a distribution network operator signs and returns this implementation agreement to GTS it is instructing GTS to modify the system connection.
  3. Building/construction involved in modifying the system connection
After instructions have been issued, GTS will start the building and construction of the desired modification.
  4. System connection agreement
The distribution network operator shall sign the amended annex to the system connection agreement entitled “Technical Specifications” before the modified system connection is put into operation.

Explanatory notes to ‘Application form for a modification to an existing system connection

Modifying a system connection can cover various scenarios. Distribution network operators may want more capacity or a different supply pressure or a relocation, etc. Distribution network operators are asked to complete this form carefully, mentioning, among other things, the gas delivery station number ‘GOS code’ as used by GTS, hence:

  • Nxxx (North)/Wxxx(West)/Zxxx(South), \
  • the network area number (300xxx, see also TSC appendix 1b Exits and
  • the EAN code

It is important that only those items that are being modified are mentioned in the form; therefore, if a system connection is being relocated, please fill in the new coordinates, if capacity is being expanded, the new capacity, etc.
