Access to Gasport

As announced in our shipper meeting of June 2016 GTS will offer an improved method for getting access to our Gasport system. The current method of using digital certificates for getting access to Gasport will be terminated (the digital certificates for the B2B application will be maintained).

This improved method is based on “Multi-Factor Authentication” (MFA); this means a user has to enter a username, password and code for getting access to Gasport. The user receives the code on his/her (smart-)phone automatically (after having entered username and password), preferably by an app installed on the smart-phone.
GTS expects the Gasport users to encounter fewer problems by using the new method, because the method is independent of the hard- and software installed by the customer. Moreover this method will ensure a more safe connection between the user and Gasport.

Cost

Using MFA is free of charge. During the migration towards MFA all active Gasport users will receive an MFA account. To limit the number of accounts in the future GTS will terminate all accounts which haven’t been used for the last half year.

Planning

GTS is in the finishing phase of the project to offer access to Gasport through MFA. After having successfully concluded the testing phase, we will perform some pilot projects to migrate Gasport users to an MFA account. We expect these pilots to take place at the end of October. The migration of the other Gasport users will start during November. We assume to provide the necessary information for the migration to all Gasport users before the end of this year.

Communication

GTS will send any other information concerning this topic to our (contractual) contact person.

An e-mail has been sent to the contractual contact persons of all shippers, suppliers and end users:

  • this message is not applicable to customers not using our Gasport system;
  • this message was not sent to all Gasport users. Please forward this information to the Gasport users in your company.
