BBL-GTS integration means that all GTS shippers need to adapt their IT systems

The BBL interconnector will become part of the TTF market area from 1 January 2018. This decision was taken this week with the BBL Company following market consultations over the last few months and discussions with the regulators, ACM and Ofgem.

Integration will result in a number of changes in our shippers' IT systems. Our document ‘GTS BBL integration operation aspects’ gives more detailed instructions on what exactly needs to be done.  This includes an important message to shippers urging them to ensure that they adapt their programmes in good time so that the TTF trades can be aggregated, which is important to prevent their programmes being rejected. Shippers who apply damping, moreover, run the risk of not being allocated damping in their exit programme.

Discussions with different market parties have shown that most shippers have already started implementing and testing the modifications to their IT systems. However, these discussions also showed that not everyone was clear about whether these changes also applied to them. For that reason, we are taking the opportunity to emphasise that all ‘GTS programme responsible parties’ must adapt their programme structure.

Our GTS Customer Desk is always available for any questions or comments or you can send an email to [email protected] for specific questions relating to testing IT aspects.
