Gasunie reaction to the NMa's draft method decisions

17 May 2011

Gasunie has noted the draft method decisions that were published by the NMa (Dutch Competition Authority). These are drafted by the regulator in order to set out the regulatory framework for gas transport in the Netherlands. The method decisions are the determining factor for the tariffs that GTS is allowed to charge for national gas transport. Gasunie will now make a careful assessment of the draft method decisions in the first instance. Although many details are still unclear, the company can already acknowledge that the proposed regulatory framework represents a considerable worsening of the situation compared to current conditions. Gasunie will consider the consequences of this for the company's position. Following on from this, we will also have to examine its impact on the Dutch Gas Roundabout policy.
