Start consultation draft Investment Plan 2020
Today GTS published the first draft Investment Plan (IP) 2020 for consultation. Pursuant to the Gas Act, GTS has the statutory task of periodically drawing up an IP. The IP provides an overview of all planned expansion and replacement investments from 2020 to 2030, including substantiation. Legally speaking, the IP contains three elements: developments in the energy market, a bottleneck analysis for determining capacity and quality bottlenecks and a description of the investments.
In addition to the developments in the total energy market, we also present our vision for the future gas market and energy transition. With the reduction of Groningen production, the Netherlands is rapidly changing from a major exporter to a major importer of natural gas. These major changes have consequences for the proper functioning of the gas market and security of supply.
The consultation of the draft investment plan will run from 1 up to and including 28 May 2020. We hope that you will read the plan with interest and are curious about your (consultation) response. We therefore invite you to share it with us at [email protected] at the latest May 28 C.O.B.
In the run-up to the consultation, GTS organized two information sessions in November 2019 and March 2020, explaining the scenarios and the investments required. GTS therefore does not organize a workshop during the consultation period.
The Dutch version of IP 2020 is leading. However, GTS will also provide an English version of the draft Investment Plan 2020 as soon as possible.
