Transport tariffs GTS decrease in 2016

The tariffs of national network operator Gasunie Transport Services (GTS) for transport, quality conversion and balancing for 2016 are on average 3% lower than in 2015, according to GTS' tariffs 2016, published by the Dutch regulator ACM today. The lower tariffs are the result of a number of effects.

The retrospective turnover costing for 2014 and the lower expected capacity booking in 2016 have an upward effect on the tariffs. GTS expects demand for capacity to be lower due to a decline in domestic production and in export.

A downward effect occurs by application of the efficiency discount (i.e. the X-factor). In addition, by a decision of the ACM costs have been shifted from one statutory task (transport) to another (existing connection). This shift has a downward effect on the tariffs of transport and a strongly upward effect on the tariffs of the existing connection.

The new tariffs will apply from 1 January 2016.
