Works at compressor station Grijpskerk

Gasunie Transport Services (GTS) is planning to start work on the compressor station in Grijpskerk in February 2022. A number of gas pipelines will be modified. This will involve the installation of a new connecting pipeline on and adjacent to the site. The work will have no impact on the environment.

The reason for this work is NAM's intention to convert its underground storage facility from an H-gas (high calorific gas) storage facility to a G-gas (gas of "Groningen" quality) storage facility as from 2022. For the work, Gasunie Transport Services - a wholly owned subsidiary of Gasunie - has applied for a permit from the Province of Groningen.

To make the storage of the G-gas possible, Gasunie must make a number of modifications to the connection to the gas storage facility. These include the installation of a new connecting pipeline on and adjacent to the site. Safety, noise and environmental impact will remain unchanged after this change. A permit has therefore been requested for what is known as an environmental neutral change.
