Tariff decision 2022
On Friday 28 May, ACM published the GTS tariff decision for 2022. ACM has implemented a number of changes in the tariff decision compared to the tariff proposal.
For example, ACM will not adopt the proposed incidental reconciliations for investments aimed at the minimization of gas extraction from the Groningen field. Also the reconciliations for removing divestments from 2020 onwards are not adopted. In addition, inflation has been updated compared to the estimate in our proposal (1.8% instead of 1.7%). Finally, ACM has replaced the tax interest rate with the statutory interest rate.
As a result, the final tariffs are approximately 1% lower than the rates in our proposal. The tariffs will come into effect on January 1, 2022.

Neutrality levy
In addition to the tariffs, GTS sets a neutrality charge on the basis of the Grid Code Balancing. This charge settles costs and revenues from balancing activities, including the pipeline buffer flexibility service, emergency settlements and costs due to default.
In 2022, the amount that will be settled via the neutrality charge (refund) will be approximately EUR 0.5 million. The amount is approximately EUR 15,000 lower than expected when the tariff proposal was published. This is caused by the switch from tax interest rate to statutory interest rate.
See below the calculation of the neutrality levy and the levy per capacity product.
